Let's Pretend

Let's make believe that snow isn't on the ground {once again} and that it's time to spring clean and shop for summer clothes. I'm craving color and a warm breeze. Anything but more snow.

Here's a toast to all things to come with the warm weather.

There is no better meal then one outside with the grill fired up and a little music on in the background.

 

 

Speaking of grilling out. I miss seasonal foods like corn and tomatoes. And ripe melon.

 

Spring flowers budding. Pure beauty.

 

Open toed shoes. Oh do I miss you. {here}

 

An outfitted front door/porch. I miss seeing potted plants and touches of color. After the holidays it's just boring a drab.



Where I want to be...

This is such a happy space. The thing about warm climates that gets me is all the open air rooms you see. Makes me so jealous and wonder why I didn't settle down in a warmer area. Oh well, at the end of the day, I'm a four seasons kind of gal.

Vanity Mirror

 Either my eye sight is getting worse or I have more fine lines to cover up. Probably both. All I know, is I'm in need of a small vanity mirror to set on my bathroom counter to do make up. Here is a look at my options.

Etsy Love

My friend recently told me about the cutest phone covers from Etsy Shop, Lucy Celebrates {here}

Her designs are simple and pretty, with a touch of metallic that pops. Plus, see the adorable packaging below.

 

 

 

And Lucy does more then phone covers, see her beautiful wedding invitations, note pads and prints. They are just as darling as the phone covers.

 

 

 

 

So my sisters name is Lauren Marie and she has always been a big list maker as well as goal setter. Ironic that her name is used as an example here. And she would adore this design.

 

I'm sort of obsessed with this little print. Sums it all up just right!

 



Hotel Design: Waldor Astoria Chicago

Stepping inside a well designed hotel is always thrilling because it might not be the aesthetic you choose to live by, but it's not often that you aren't impressed. That's the feeling I had when I entered the Waldorf Astoria in Chicago {here} this past weekend for a quick trip to the spa with dear friends. What a treat. It's a very sleek and streamlined look with upscale appeal.

 

Go there.

 

When you pull in the circular drive you begin to feel transported away from all your worries and obligations...

 

This magnificent light fixture greets you when you enter.

 

The spa relaxation room, which I could have stayed in all day. These chairs were so comfortable and perfect to lounge in {while eating an assortment of delicious nuts and flavored water}  

 

Don't you love a long, wide hallway in a spa locker room...more like lady's wing. You know you hit the spa jack pot when you see this.

 

I took a dip in this and what they don't show you is the incredible view you have.

 



Shelf Life: Tom Scheerer Decorates

If you are looking for a delicious read, pick up Tom Scheerer Decorates, it will leave you inspired and content. What I've always loved about Tom Sheerer is his natural ability to make a space warm and unique with out trying too hard. His style is effortless, collected and simple. These words put it perfectly in the introduction:
 

"Scheerer's decorating looks a great deal like him. It's tall and commanding but often quiet. It's smart, correct, breezy, chic, well edited - and just a touch eccentric. It balances refinement with all-American ease. Yet it is un-American in its emphasis on recycling, reinventing, and not overdoing things."
