Space for bar stools! These have been ordered and sitting in my living room for months now, so ready to use them!

My house in 20 years - or another lifetime!

 I often look at a space and think "never in a million years" - between, babies, dogs, and life in general it's hard to just decorate a space based on what looks good. It's all about how a household functions and for me personally that means spit up, dirty paws and a constant flow of people in and out. I wouldn't have it any other way, but I think these spaces below {which I drool over} are in my far future or another life time.

 

I write all this while juggling Jake on my lap, with the dogs running wild all around - and let's be honest as sophisticated and elegant as these spaces seem, my true love will always be colorful, casual interiors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Lighter and Brighter

I love this re-do featured in HGTV Magazine. Originally a dated, dark space, it's now brighter and happier with a few simple changes {white paint!}

 

The "before" pic is at the bottom...and proves that you shouldn't be intimated by an older home or room, but rather something you should embrace! 

 

The fixture about the sink is unexpected, but I totally love it.

 

 

 

Adore the green, leafy window panels. Cheery touch.

White Works

After spending the weekend in beautiful Wilmington, North Carolina, I have a week full of blog inspiration. We stayed with good friends who are in the process of moving closer to the beach, so there was a lot of discussion about paint palette, decor and beach style interiors. With white walls in mind, I thought it might be fun to reinforce why white works and what the draw is...crisp, clean and fresh. Totally livable and definitely beachy.
