Around the House

There are finally a few finished areas in my house - it seems that decorating and furnishing is never ending, always a work in progress. As I was loading pictures from my camera of these spaces to blog about, I noticed the pictures I took from the first day we signed our contract for the house and I love to see the before and after.

Here is the eating area off the kitchen before we moved in:

{notice the wall to the left of the table - we took it out to open up the space}

**AFTER**

I love the chair seat fabric and how the head chairs are different then the side chairs.

A Spot to Linger

Nothing like a great spot to linger. Eat, drink, chat, nap...whatever it might be, this space says "stay a while".

Kitchen Sneak Peek

This is one of my favorite spaces in my house and although it isn't complete yet, I thought I would give you a sneak peek since people have been asking for more pictures.

I call it my casual eating area. It's comfy, cozy and definitely a place to linger. I haven't done window treatments yet, the chair seats will soon have different fabric and the pillows for the settee are almost finished, so there is a stand in at the moment.

My giveaway ends next week, don't forget to take part!

My amazing sister in law brought over this sweet fiddle leaf fig tree for us...I am so thrilled, I've always wanted one!!

It Begins!

It's official, the house is finally ours! We don't move in until December 1st {which will be here before we know it} but have plenty to do in the mean time.

I'm out the door any minute to go meet with contractors about widening the wall between our kitchen and family room, then paint begins, etc.

Below is the breakfast nook (picture taken when previous owner still had furniture inside) which will soon be much more open to the other room you see to the left. We wanted this area to be as open as possible.

This Kravet settee will go under the window in a blue and white stripe...hoping to make our eating area cozy and comfy!

This Martyn Lawrence-Bullard fabric will make an appearance as throw pillows on the settee. I've been crushing this pattern for a while and can't wait to soon live with it!

Kellogg Collection Pine Table will pull up to the settee with some white Pottery Barn chairs. Can't wait to show you "after" pictures!

Celebrating at the house last night!

Comfy Dining

I often catch myself day dreaming about a space like this.
Life is busy and people are always headed in different directions, so why not make a cozy space where you want to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures. I could really linger here a while.
