Plant life: Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

I'm already sad about taking down the Christmas tree in a few days...which got me thinking. I need a tree to stick around and the fiddle leaf fig tree would be a great option. I love my topiaries and succulents, but they just don't have the same wow factor as this large leaf exotic beauty.

And the I really adore the name too...

Sometimes you just can't live without...

...an antique bamboo accent table.

I stumbled upon an antique shop called Finials in the midst of the snowy weather yesterday...and it was a good thing I stopped in, because how great is this bamboo accent table? I love the idea of accent tables because there is no pressure - it can go anywhere (literally - the picture above is in our bathroom) will likely fit any where and they serve a purpose too...great spot for your coffee cup or glass of wine.

All about beams

The ceiling is often overlooked, but exposed beams can make it a beautiful focal point that softens the room and adds personality. If you are someone (like me) who really finds this component a must, faux beams can easily be installed in any room...and boy do they make a space handsome.

Charity, Cookies and Design

Yesterday I spent my afternoon at the Janus et Cie showroom in Georgetown for a Charity event and cookie exchange. It brought together local designers to raise money for Labels of Love - a fun and festive time!

As an early riser, these breakfast nooks - or places to linger, really appeal to me. It's easy to imagine my first (and very cherished) cup of coffee each morning in a cozy and comfortable setting such as these...
