Around the House

There are finally a few finished areas in my house - it seems that decorating and furnishing is never ending, always a work in progress. As I was loading pictures from my camera of these spaces to blog about, I noticed the pictures I took from the first day we signed our contract for the house and I love to see the before and after.

Here is the eating area off the kitchen before we moved in:

{notice the wall to the left of the table - we took it out to open up the space}

**AFTER**

I love the chair seat fabric and how the head chairs are different then the side chairs.

A Sunny Spot

I'm not usually one for pink, but this is such a great space with pretty touches of pattern and texture. I especially love the light fixture, so unique.

Diggin' This

I've always been a fan of artist Nancy Ramirez of Cozamia. Her work is vibrant and a bit funky with lots of color. I just noticed this new print and love it. Where could I put this? I think I need it.

Happy Friday!

Anchors Make me Happy

What is it about anchors? For some reason they make me happy. They are a symbol of summer time and being by the water, usually the color blue and in a way they seem patriotic.

They are every where and I love it.

Outside Everything

Isn't spring the best? Seeing things in bloom and feeling the warm breeze really does wonders.
All the sudden my focus goes from inside my house to outside. I'm pondering planters and lanterns, while folding down recipes to test out on the grill.

This has always been a great outside space - cozy with the perfect amount of comfort and color.

Treasure Hunting Success

My trip to Chartreuse & Co. was a fun adventure and lucky me, I found a few treasures along the way!

I snagged a set of 6 of these glasses. Love them, the greek key stole my heart! And how perfect for my bar cart project?

Can't have too many trays - this bamboo guy came home with me and I already found a place for it.

Lastly, I found this chair and can't wait to reupholster it!

Weekend Thoughts

I've been trying to cross things off my list and jazzing up the bar cart for my dining room is one of them. I found some funky margarita glasses and pretty little prosecco flutes that just make me giddy. And, both were under $5!

My Friday night project is making margarita's with fresh lime juice, agave nectar and a dash of grand marnier. Yum yum.

On another note...I'm a gal that loves anchor anything...I'm actually wearing a jcrew anchor night shirt as I type this. Anywho, love the bed skirts here - so nautical and sweet.

Tomorrow morning I'm headed to Chartruese & Co. with a few friends. I can't wait! It's been a while since I've visited this barn full of treasures, hopefully I will have some bits to show you next week.

Lastly...It was so fun to take Jake to the beach and pool for the first time - he loved it!

The Blues

This is two fold - one, I have the vacation blues. We just spent a few days in West Palm Beach, Florida and it's hard to come home greeted by cold weather and the daily grind. Also, I am craving beachy blue colors in my life to rev up the summer excitement...they are every where!
