Home Love

I came across the home tour of Alexis Stewart's (daughter of Martha Stewart) apartment and I was very intrigued. Her taste is simple and sleek, a bit of a departure from her mom's traditional style. Definitely a space to feel refreshed in with all the natural light.

Living Light
Very airy, feminine living room.

Fuss free work space. Reminds me of a space you'd see on Mad Men.

More light filled space - gorgeous kitchen.

Her son's nursery.

I just love this blue tile - so fresh and so sweet with her baby Jade at play.

Very stylish yet simple vanity.

My Precious Baby Boy

Jake Stephen Castle arrived on Friday, August 10th at 11:55 a.m.
We are overwhelmed by this special little person already and love him beyond words.

I will try to pop in when I can, but have a bit of a distraction at the moment and will be up and running once I'm settled and in a routine with my little man.

{Look at all that hair!}

I love his profile.

Instant love.

Isn't She Lovely?

I have always been a big fan of Reese Witherspoon. She has that all American look and style and seems like the girl next door. Of course I wasn't surprised to absolutely adore her recent spread in Elle Decor...have a look {if you haven't already seen her cozy abode}.

{love those boots}

Sophisticated with a relaxed feel - fun accessories/accents tucked in amongst the elegance.

Gorgeous stairwell railing, and look at the cozy nook? Such charecter.

So darling.

What a perfect outdoor setting. Love the mix of chairs.

Ants in my Pants

I'm getting antsy...when is this baby coming? To keep busy, I continue to nest and find projects to work on...Pat must worry when he leaves for the day, I've always got something up my sleeve.

The upstairs hallway/landing in our house needed some love...a lot of areas do, but I am trying to remember that decorating a house is a work in progress. However,  I've had the hankering to tackle certain areas. I wanted to bring a little color and character to this spot - my goal was to spend under $100, which meant the hit or miss Home Goods run, or Ikea to the rescue. I ended up at Ikea and was excited to purchase the expedit shelf {only $40!!} two baskets for the bottom cubby holes and a faux orchid. I accessorized with items and pieces I had stashed away, waiting for a place to call home.

When you walk up my stairs, this is the view...Lady adds a nice little touch :)
I have plans to do a gallery wall of pictures up the right side {maybe that will be my next project}

At the top of the stairs I hung these prints by Michelle Armas and have plans to cover the bench in a Quadrille print (below)

The other side of the hallway was empty, so here is my before and after:

Monday Inspiration: Color Blocking

I'm diggin' the color blocking trend. A bit related to stripes {which I can't get enough of} and bold with color combinations.
